Requirements

The "111 Submission Series" has specific requirements for participants as outlined below:

1. Eligibility: Participation is open to anyone with proven grappling background. We require at least three years of experience in any grappling discipline. While we understand there are numerous grappling disciplines, after your registration, 111 staff will reach out to you to determine skill level which will assist in designating permitted techniques and time limits. In most cases the 111 will require documentation of skill level, to include but not limited to a certificate of promotion, written instructor/coach endorsement, etc.

Participants may either find their own opponents for submission matches or have one arranged by the 111 Project staff. All match pairings will be made based on skill, gender, and weight.

2. Participants have an opportunity to walk away with a minimum of $150 per match. However, each participant needs to raise a minimum of $100.  This is the registration fee of most tournaments, but keep in mind you have the chance to walk away with more than just a medal while also supporting a great cause!

Through our site you receive a custom page so you can ask friends and family to support you via social media, email, and text. You can coordinate an opponent of your size and skill set, or we can find one for you.

The winner of each match will receive 25 % of the total funds raised for their match, with additional awards for top fundraisers. Submissions within the first two minutes will receive a $100 bonus!  Participants will also receive a commission from all streaming sales through Combat Sports Now (CSN).

This incentive structure fuels the competitive spirit and maximizes support for the cause.

3. Pre-Tournament Responsibilities:

  • Contestants must be registered and comply with fundraising requirements.
  • Strict adherence to the rule and regulations listed below.
  • Sign Participation Waiver

These requirements ensure both the safety of the participants and the successful funding of the "FLEOA 111 Project".

Gender Classes:

At 111 Submission Series, we prioritize creating an environment that promotes fairness, inclusivity, and respect across all events. To uphold these values, we present the following guidelines for transgender competitors:

Division Guidelines:

  • Biological Female Divisions: These divisions are available exclusively to competitors whose gender assigned at birth is female. Transgender female competitors are not eligible for these divisions.

  • Biological Male Divisions: These divisions are open to competitors whose gender assigned at birth is male. Transgender male competitors are eligible to compete in these divisions provided they meet the same requirements as cisgender participants.

Division Options for Transgender Competitors:

Transgender Females:

  • Transgender female competitors must register and compete according to their gender assigned at birth.

  • If registered in a biological female division, transgender female competitors will be offered the opportunity to:

  • Compete in the corresponding men's division or full refund.

Transgender Males:

  • Transgender male competitors may register and compete in the biological male divisions, subject to the same qualifications and rules as their cisgender counterparts.

  • If circumstances arise where a transgender male is registered in a biological female division, options will include:

  • Competing in the appropriate men's division or full refund.

This policy is designed to ensure that competition remains fair and equitable while respecting the rights and dignity of all athletes. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all participants as we strive to maintain a competitive and inclusive environment.

Judging/Scoring:

In the 111 Submission Series, the 10-Point System awards ten points to the round's winner and nine or fewer to the loser, depending on dominance. Effective submission attempts are judged based on the impact and execution of legal attempts. Effective takedowns and throws require maintaining control for two seconds post-execution. Slams, defined as forceful and malicious throws, are prohibited. Effective sweeps occur when a competitor transitions from a lower to a dominant position, maintaining it for two seconds. Effective aggression involves advancing position and executing submission attempts, while effective positional control involves using a dominant position to set up further attacks and submissions. The series adheres to a Submission Only scoring criteria.
